Joss StoneI loved photographing Joss. Her energy on stage and, of course, that voice, were amazing. |

New Town KingsA band you absolutely must go and see. Write a note on how you were about ska before you met them. If it wasn't your thing before, it will be afterwards. They've got a new album out: sound of the new town. |

Chris, lead singer with the New Town Kings. So far though I've only really photographed them on stage and then only in some pretty poorly lit venues. But, all the same, I liked this shot of Chris, taken in 2006. |

Bum in the Mud bike rally gigs. This is Dave, fetish furniture maker, who decided to have his picture taken while I was trying to photograph his favourite band. Seeing him suddenly through my viewfinder felt like I was about to be attacked by a prehistoric bird (frankly, I've known a few ...) Anyway, turned out he just wanted to be part of my evening's photography. Click to enlarge, etc. |

Kill Freeman FacultyI put this shot in because I like the look of TK's dreads. They seem to be helping play the bass. |

Ollie Cooper, guitar, Koopa by Olivia. What could be a better way to spend a sunny afternoon? I took my eldest daughter (12 at the time) to a gig a few summers ago. She took her camera. I'm always banging on about photography just being about special moments that end up sticking with you. Being a dad is exactly the same. |

Jack BruceJack Bruce, Pasta in the Park Concert, August 2004. No worthy composition here but I have always liked it simply because it was one of my first. Jack and his son came to jam with some friends at a completely unpublicised charity gig in a field a few hundred yards from my home. In effect, he and his friends (Berlin Ritz) put on a set for me and about 10 others. So the least I can do in return is include it in my favourites. But, I would have done so even if there had been 100,000 people there because it was my first go at music photography. Funny - it hasn't been that easy since but ... |

Regina SpektorColchester, Arts Centre, St Valentine's Day 2006 Not the best lighting. Not the best position. But, quite easily, one of the best musicians I have seen. One more gig in the UK and then back to the US. If you missed Regina on this tour, don't make the same mistake next time. |
